We operate a system of key groups. This means that each child is allocated a key person (a member of staff) who is responsible for observing and recording progress, dealing with any issues that may arise, and catering for any needs.
This does not mean that other staff are not involved with your child, as we spend lots of time together The key group represents a focal point for your child and ensures thy receive the support needed.
Parents are encouraged to discuss their child’s progress with their key person, and should feel free to contact them.
All parents are asked to pick up their child a few minutes earlier than the end of their session, so that you have the opportunity to talk to your child’s Key Person or a member of the team. When picking up, the Practitioner will tell you how your child has been, what and how much they how they have eaten. We also publish what your child has eaten, nap times for under 3’s , nappies, some activities during the course of their day.
During the settling in period, parents are welcome to call the nursery at any point during the day to talk to a member of staff about how their child is getting on that day.
